Pseudofolliculitis Barbae, the medical term for ingrown hair, is caused by hair not growing correctly out of the skin pore, either being trapped on it's way out or growing back on itself and into the skin surface.
This usually occurs after shaving, when hair is cut near the surface and at an angle, the exiting hair is sharp and can bury itself quite deeply. Healthy skin reacts to the prescence of this 'foreign body' with an inflammatory response (swelling, redness and itching) which is commonly referred to as a razor bump.
Ingrow Rescue™ works in two distinct ways:
It causes the targeted skin water pressure to increase (pushing out)
It gently removes the upper layer of skin cells, thereby alleviating the blockage.
